This is a Guide on how to Boot Import Games using your Gameshark.
You can use this just to boot imports or to boot imports with codes. Both work.
Do NOT leave your flip top lid open like some of these pictures show.
We've got it propped open to show you what's going on. It's for DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY!!!
Turn your PS2 on with Gameshark PS2 Disc inside. When you get to the GameShark Menu, Eject the Gameshark Disc.
Now Replace it with A LARGE TOC DVD-BASED PS2 DISC. Swap Magic DVD Disc, Devil May Cry, GTA III, etc... all work fine. This Example uses the Swap Magic DVD Disc. Press Eject button to make the tray go back in. Count to 10 at AVERAGE speed, not quickly.
After the 10-count, Highlight "GameShark Codes" and Press X.
Whatever game it highlights is fine, In this case it's on "Ace Combat 4a," Press X
Now you'll see a list of the available codes. Even though you're probably not using any, HIGHLIGHT ONE. This process seems to work better when you highlight a code instead of leaving it on "Add New Code". Press START.
Choose "Without Codes". Your Disc inside the PS2 will now stop. If you DO wish to load a game with Codes, Simply select "With Codes" here instead.
Ok, you're ready to swap out the disc for whatever game you wish to play. Open your Flip Top Lid and put in the game you want to play. In this example, we're using a backup of the usually Swap Magic non-compliant Import, Soul Calibur 2. Close Lid and Press X
After about 10 seconds (maybe a little longer, 15 perhaps) of black screen, your game will start. Congrats!!
Go ahead and Pick Heihachi (see him?) and destroy everyone in your path...Or Ivy if you're attention-starved...
